Society of Wine Educators Conference

On August 16th, freelance wine journalist and WSET Diploma-holder Cathrine Todd gave a seminar at the Society of Wine Educators Conference entitled “The New Israel: Biblical Grapes Meet Orange Wines in a Bubbling Mediterranean Melting Pot.” Addressing an audience of wine educators and certification-seekers, Todd spoke on the terroir, varietals, styles, producers, regions, and history of Israeli wines, helping to articulate how Israel is poised to become one of the world’s most interesting new wine regions. The accompanying wines poured were Dalton Winery Pét-Nat 2018, Recanati “Winery Reserve” Marawi 2017, Jezreel Valley Winery Argaman 2016, Somek Winery Carignan 2011, Arza Winery Hayotzer “Lyrica” Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre 2016, Golan Heights Winery Yarden “2T” 2014, and Tabor Winery Malkiya Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014.
