The Golan Heights Winery, founded in 1983, is the pioneering winery of Israel and inspired the country’s quality wine revolution. It is situated in the small town of Katzrin, high up on the Golan Heights. Their vineyards are situated on the Golan, a volcanic plateau that rises up to 3,600 feet above sea level. Their success put Israel on the international wine map and they became a main ambassador of Israeli wine in export markets. Their legendary winemaker, since 1992, is Victor Schoenfeld.
